Both are exciting and I will race either. I don't like 1/4 for the carnage and the horrible destruction that happened to Greg H this past year, but seeing the amazing ET/MPH is pretty cool. SCSN is one of the only chances racers get to run 1/4 at a major event.
1/8 is great action and racers have to bring his/her A game on the tree along with performance on the track. It also evens up the playing field as the big HP cars don't have as big as chance to drive around anyone.
no 1000 feet though.

1/8th mile SCott LOwery Outlaw 10.5 Cadillac XLR . Takes too long for the: carnage, accidents, oil clean ups, extra track prep (hopefully they plan to prep the track). Id rather see them use the extra glue for the last half of the 1/4 on the first half, trust me, I think everyone would agree. I am very grateful the track is open again and these big events are what we have all wished for but they will need to give the surface some love. Everyone has to run the 1/8th mile to get to the 1/4, I dont see why anyone would not compete if it was 1/8th mile. I think with the number of cars around the midwest and east coast that run the 1/8, theres not much to talk about. The only thing running the 1/4 is nmca and they are struggling for car count too last I heard. Didnt you guys just go back to the 1/4? Did you get anymore cars? I would be shocked if the 1/4 helped car count around here, just dont see that happening, sorry guys. August around here will be a treat for sure, even if it is a night race it may still be a struggle for spectators and tuners. Lets help advertise the crap out of this deal and make it BIG. Scott

East coasters like 1/8 mile and RvsW rules. There are a ton of cars here that race this format.

I prefer 1/4 that is what I built my car for.

I'm planning to make the haul and support this event regardless of the decision whether it will be run 1/8 or 1/4 ! I live in Portland Oregon and for events held up here on West Coast and PNW, I prefer 1/4, and have ran only once 1/8 event, but since I'm 2068 miles away I will stay neutral on this meter and let racers that live in Mid West decide. This is in their back yard and I'm sure that they, along with Mel, will make the right decision which will bring good turnout and to have this event grow as Vegas SCSN has grown. I would like to see same rule in place as they are for Vegas SCSN, If St. Louis SCSN is run 1/8 then a little tweak in rules to make it fair for everyone is understandable. There is a slim chance that our new combination will be ready in time. But if it is ready we prefer 1/8th. We will support Mel whether it's 1/8 or 1/4 with the car or making the trip to spectate.
