This is also great for us Outlaw 10.5 guys that like running 1/4, if it ever gets switched to 1/8 we will have a class we can switch to, throw some big tires on and fit right in. Paja

I had thought this was to be a legal promod class. Now it looks like it's just another outlaw class. Why have 2 outlaw classes. How disappointing. This is not Promod. Count me out.

The plan and intent was to have a LEGAL pro mod class and to keep all weight and performance rules the same with Adv ET safety rules. NHRA has already designated the weight rules. The parity we have seen there proves those rules are not only working but fostering some awesome competition.

ProMod= NHRA Pro-Mod rules All others = Outlaw I am out - Racer or sponsor Vern Explain why? The main intent of weights and cubic inch rules are in there!! No screws, no big turbos no stupid big inch nitrous motors, so what is the issue? None of the other combos mentioned can run with a real pro mod so what is really going on here? Andy

Ross Ross, if this was a NHRA Pro Mod Legal Class to the "WRITTEN RULE", only 1 US blown car (Mike Knowles) west of the Mississippi could enter at 14.55od and have a prayer against Janis, Rowe, or any top Turbo or Nitrous Car.... Correct me if I'm wrong
Very few if any west coast/Canada Pro Mods are equipped with the safety devices NHRA requires... So if you can't go 100% with the NHRA Class, you have to make adjustments
What about all the great 6.0 Roots Cars that run at 20over that can't get those SPECIAL NHRA BLOWERS?
Roots & Nitrous cars both wanted a class where there are no Screws, 94mm Turbos and Low 5.70 capability..... Well here it is

Mel, as for the safety rules yes, actually there are quite a few cars that have the required safety equipment for legal ProMod, with probably one exception and that is the RF Shutoff box and that's because most tracks don't have the other box that transmits the shut-off signal. All of the West Coast Pro Mod cars were/are legal ProMods as that was the rules that we run under. That being said, the premise for this race was NHRA legal performance rules with Advanced ET Safety rules so most every quick car out there would meet those rules that don't require pour-in seats, RF boxes, carbon brakes, etc.
